In lieu of Lotus’ celebration of its 40^th year in production at the Hethel factory in the United Kingdon, Lotus plans to memorialize the event with the introduction of their special limited edition Elise S. The said vehicle has a 2008 model and only has 50 units built. These 50 units will be allotted to specified European countries and the number of units per country will also be monitored. It is quite peculiar that the 40^th Anniversary Elise S will not be available in the United Kingdom. The said vehicle is based on the Elise Range’s entry level and remembers how Lotus’ 40 years in Hethel was.
